KENT COUNTY, MI – A man is charged with open murder in a weekend shooting outside of Affordable Suites of America in Kentwood. Jerry Kidd Jr., 35, was arraigned Monday, May 1, in Kentwood District Court in the fatal shooting of Edgar Hernandez-Sandoval, 41. Kidd was ordered held on $750,000 bond. Related: 1 dead in Kentwood early morning shooting The shooting happened early Saturday, April 29, during an altercation outside of the hotel at 2701 East Beltline Avenue SE, Kentwood police said. Kidd allegedly shot Hernandez-Sandoval once with a handgun.
