HOLLAND — A local high school will be among a small group of schools in Michigan to pilot an Advanced Placement African American studies course next school year.  Black River High School in Holland is one of 20 Michigan high schools selected by the College Board, the organization that provides the AP course framework, according to Bridge Michigan . The new AP African American studies course debuted in 60 high schools across the country this school year. It will be expanded to 'hundreds of additional high schools' in 2023-24, including the 20 in Michigan, according to the College Board website.
